At Cunningham we are always aiming to improve the lives of others so much so that we have outlined it as being our purpose, whether that be through the products we manufacture or the production methods used.
Products
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. Particularly in the clever protective covers we manufacture. Our ongoing research & development is key to allowing us to innovate new products and use textiles that are sustainable.
One such product that Cunningham has designed and engineered is the ‘Sea Croc’. This product has aided fish farmers in becoming more sustainable in a number of ways. The Sea Croc has been designed to tow large volumes of freshwater to fish farms off-shore. By towing the freshwater off-site, fish farmers are able to treat their fish for Amoebic Gill Disease, which in turn will help reduce the mortality rate of the fish. Other applications where the sea-croc can aid sustainability include transporting large volumes of oil or transporting freshwater to drought-stricken locations.
We pride ourselves on the quality of the products we manufacture and their long life-span. When a product leaves Cunningham it is designed to last and hold up against a wide variety of elements, from frost protection, corrosion protection and much more. This means that not only are we making our own products sustainable, in that they will not need to be replaced for years or decades, indirectly Cunningham helps others become more sustainable by providing protection for their high value assets such as machine so they don’t have to be replaced either.
Production Methods
As previously stated, Cunningham’s purpose is to improve lives through the manufacture of clever protective covers. This doesn’t just mean we aim to improve lives through our products but also in the way in which we manufacture our clever protective covers. We ensure that all our production is in line with our sustainable development goals (responsible consumption and production). This includes reusing packaging, reusing and repurposing returned covers for reselling. We also reduce our wastage were possible through using modern automated cutters with which reduce material wastage, as well as using off-cuts for packaging.
